We begin the new year with a new series, considering how we can go deeper in our relationship with Jesus, with other believers and with the world around us. We will spend the next 5 weeks looking at the following areas: Live, Love, Look, Listen, Learn.

This morning, Sam spoke on Jesus’ response in Matthew 22, having been asked what is the greatest commandment.

First up is ‘Live’ as Sam opens up Paul’s letter to the Philippians at chapter one where we find the following words of Paul; ‘For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.’

How do we handle the parts of the Bible where we’re presented with what looks like a list of names? It can be tempting to skip over them but as we explored Romans 16 this morning we see just how rich these verses are.

In our current sermon series we are going to be exploring Jesus’ words to His disciples in John 15:1-17. Over the next 4 weeks we will teach into what Jesus said about abiding, fruitfulness, prayer, obedience and love.

This morning we looked at Jesus’ words in John 15:1-6 about fruitfulness and considered the following:
What does it mean for Jesus followers to bear fruit?
How does this fruit come about?
What role do the vine and the vinedresser play in fruitfulness?

In our current sermon series we are going to be exploring Jesus’ words to His disciples in John 15:1-17. Over the next 4 weeks we will teach into what Jesus said about abiding, fruitfulness, prayer, obedience and love.

Sam kicked off our series with an introduction, explaining the thinking and purpose behind this series. He then spoke on what it meant for Jesus to call Himself the true vine.

In our current series we are going to be exploring the core values of the Relational Mission family of churches, and considering what it looks like for us as a Church to be shaped by them.

Sam spoke this morning on the second of our values that relates to mission and how it is to be expressed locally, globally and holistically.

The third of the values relating to church leadership is that of having, and being, leaders who are servant-hearted. But as Sam shared this morning we are all called to love, humility and servant hood.

This morning our focus turned to church governance as we explored the first of three values related to leadership. Sam was speaking on having elders in each local church.

Sam continued our series this morning, basing ourselves in Titus 3 as we consider the centrality of the gospel and the message of grace to the Christian life and the local church.
