Abbeyfields Christian
The residents of Abbeyfields Court are living in a retirement community and we are hugely privileged in being able to serve this community, having been invited to host a short service once a month, where we have got to know a regular core of folk.
The residents are in a season of life where it is difficult for some to attend Church, even if they wished to. So we are bringing church to them and demonstrating the love of Jesus, bringing some biblical teaching and action.
It is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere giving support and encouragement in the Christian faith and over the course of the last few years we have engaged with the residents and made some good and trusting relationships with them.
The service runs every second Monday of the month and is planned, prepared and hosted by a number of our Time 4 Tea team. The services are informal and friendly with music, prayer, fellowship and the breaking of bread. There is also a short message by either a member of the team or guest speaker.
